Pastor for Eastminster
Ann graduated from Western Theological Seminary in 2009 and has served churches in Grand Rapids and Ionia, Michigan. Prior to her call to ministry, Ann had a 15+ year career in physical therapy, having received a B.S. in Biology from the University of Michigan and a M.S. in Physical Therapy from Duke University. It was a smooth transition from healthcare to spiritual care as Ann considers her life’s work to be a ministry of healing and wholeness.
Ann enjoys serving alongside the congregation of Eastminster and helping to lead them into God’s good future. Ann is especially excited about the community outreach in which the congregation has become engaged such as IFHN/Family Promise and tutoring/mentoring at Mulick Park Elementary School.
Ann and her husband Peter have been married for 29 years and have two emerging young adults ~ Lily who is 20 and attends Valparaiso University and Lewis who is 17 and is a senior in high school. Bailey, a 12 and a half year old “puppy” rounds out their family.
Running, biking, reading and spending time outside enjoying the beautyy of God’s creation are things you might find her doing when not at church!
Thom was born in Kittery, Maine and has lived in the Grand Rapids area since the age of one. A graphic artist by trade, Thom has two adult children, Lindsey Duchon and Justin Adams, and two grandchildren, Kyler Duchon and Aubree Adams
Ann Lorris and serves as Elder, Church Treasurer and Church Bookkeeper. Ann and her husband Mark returned to Eastminster a couple of years ago and they both felt like they were home. They have a cat named Morgan. The duties of the Eastminster Tresurer are varied. They range from counting the weekly offering to annual budget preparation and reporting Church finances to Session.
Minister of Music
David has a bachelor’s of Music degree which he received in 1979 from Western Michigan University as well as a Master of Arts degree in 2006 also from Western Michigan University. He brings over 40 Years of musical experience to Eastminster, including private instruction, solo and ensemble performance, and as teacher/director of various instrumental and vocal ensembles, including 21 Years as Director of Choirs in local churches.
Ray has degrees from Calvin College and Brown University. He has been an editor of theological books for thirty-five years and organist at Eastminster for twelve. He is married to Christie and has two daughters and one grandaughter.
