Children’s Ministries – Learning About Worship
Children develop through the opportunity to praise and pray together, and we recognize the need our younger members have to do this in active, compelling ways. After beginning worship in the sanctuary, we invite children ages four to 4th grade to our Worship Center room located on the second floor.
Worship begins as our children sit in a circle and sing a welcome song together. Then our leader shares stories from the Bible (we are also guided by Young Children and Worship). These stories are told through movement and acting with wooden figurines and decorative sets. Afterward we engage our children by asking ‘wondering’ questions, giving the children time to ponder what they just heard and encountered in God’s Word.
Time for creative response is essential for our children in the form of art, reading, mediating, or anyway they choose to talk with God. After a few more songs and a blessing from the leader, the children return to their parents.
